EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CELL

INTRODUCTION

The Equal Opportunity Cell at the Institute of Management is established in line with AICTE, UGC, and SPPU guidelines to promote inclusivity, non-discrimination, and equal access in line with AICTE, UGC, and SPPU guidelines. It supports disadvantaged groups, persons with disabilities, minorities, and women by fostering a fair, enabling environment and promoting equitable participation across academic, administrative, and institutional activities.

Objectives

Promote a discrimination-free and inclusive environment by ensuring equal access to academic, administrative, and co-curricular opportunities for all students.
Support individuals from disadvantaged and underrepresented groups, including persons with disabilities, socially and economically marginalized communities, women, and minority groups.
Uphold and monitor institutional compliance with equity, inclusivity, gender equality, and non-discrimination norms prescribed by AICTE, UGC, and SPPU.
Address grievances related to inequality, exclusion, gender bias, or denial of opportunity through a fair, transparent, and responsive mechanism.
Organize sensitization programs, workshops, and outreach initiatives to promote awareness on diversity, gender equity, inclusiveness, and respectful campus practices.
Periodically review institutional policies and recommend measures to strengthen equal opportunity, gender equity, and an inclusive academic environment.
Collaborate with other statutory committee like ICC, Anti-ragging, etc. to ensure holistic inclusion.

Constitution of Equal Opportunity Cell

Functioning under the Equal Opportunity Cell at the Institute of Management, the Squad maintains vigilance, conducts surprise checks, and responds immediately to reported or suspected incidents, acting as the first responder to ensure prevention within campus and hostel areas.
